Updated Information about the 2020 Challenge

[Updated March 31, 2020]

Hello 100-Mile Challenge Participants!

First and foremost, we hope this message finds you and your family well. There are a couple of changes to the 100-Mile Challenge that we wanted to announce due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

  1. The first raffle, scheduled for April 1, 2020, is now postponed until June 1, 2020. We believe that postponing is in the best interest of everyone as there are more pressing issues at hand.

  2. The raffle timeline is now June 1, 2020, September 1, 2020, December 1, 2020, and March 1, 2021

  3. All prize packs will remain the same and are still graciously donated by The Great Outdoor Provision Co.

  4. The entry numbers will not be changed or altered, meaning that participants are now able to earn more entries for the first drawing on June 1, 2020.

We understand that a large number of participants earn their miles in North Carolina State Parks. Please understand that during this time, we do not have the staff or resources to maintain the parks, especially with the numbers of visitors that have been recently reported.

Please, enjoy your local neighborhoods and greenways while observing the recommended 6-foot social distance. Do not enter closed state parks as citations could occur. They are closed for your safety and to help stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

For an updated list of closed parks, you can either go to https://www.facebook.com/nc100miles or check the specific park website for more details.

If you have additional questions, please reach out to us at nc100miles@ncparks.gov.

Thank you for your support and understanding during this unprecedented time.
